    Individual arrival in Donaueschingen.
    You start your tour in Donaueschingen at the source of the Danube.

  2. 2 Donaueschingen 45/55 km Mühlheim/Fridingen

    Donaueschingen - Mühlheim/Fridingen, approx. 45/55 km

    You cycle to Immendingen with the Danube sinkhole, where the river disappears into porous limestone ground for the majority of the year. In Tuttlingen the valley gets narrower.

  3. 3 Mühlheim/Fridingen 55/45 km Sigmaringen

    Mühlheim/Fridingen - Sigmaringen, approx. 55/45 km

    The river flows between high limestone rocks and you cycle mostly right along the shore. You get a guided tour through Sigmaringen castle which is still occupied today.

  4. 4 Sigmaringen 50 km Obermarchtal

    Sigmaringen - Obermarchtal, approx. 50 km

    You follow the Danube to Zwiefaltendorf where you should take a detour to the Benedictine monastery. In Obermarchtal you find a baroque style monastery.

    Obermarchtal - Blaubeuren - Ulm, approx. 65 km

    Through the valley of the „old Danube", the original course of the Danube, to Blaubeuren with the famous, Blautopf" (blue pothole). This is a karst spring and the beginning of a great underground cave system.

    Ulm - Lauingen/Dillingen, approx. 50/55 km

    Visit the worlds highest steeple in Ulm before you cycle through small well-preserved towns towards Dillingen.

    Lauingen/Dillingen - Donauwörth, approx. 45/40 km

    Most of the towns you pass today are located on elevations to save them from floods. In Donauwörth the formerly most important trade route between Nuremberg and Augsburg crosses the Danube.
