Italy - Alps to Venice

From beautiful Alpine scenery to one of the most famous, unique and picturesque cities in the world, Venice.
  1. 1 Independent arrival Bolzano

    Today we arrive in the Alpine town of Bolzano, in the region of the Alps known as the Dolomites. Enjoy the medieval town centre with its narrow streets and fine shops. And don't forget to visit the museum of Ötzi, the 5000-year-old ice man. 

  2. 2 Bolzano 70 km Trento

    We leave Bolzano and head down the valley of the River Edige, passing through orchards, vineyards, and small villages where we can stop off for a capuccino or two. This is a real cycling superhighway, and we will be able to share the ride with many other riders. and a great atmosphere. Our route takes us to the fine city of Trento. We can shorten this stage if we wish by taking the local train.  65 - 70 km = 43 miles / elevation up to 370 metres. 

  3. 3 Trento 50 km Peschiera / Desenzano

    Always pedalling along the Adige you reach Rovereto and Mori. From here westwards towards Lake Garda. After a short ascent, a refreshing descent will follow and lead you to Torbole and to the enchanting lakeside village of Riva del Garda. The relaxing ferry cruise takes you all the way along the beautiful Lake Garda to the southern part of the lake. 50 km ride = 31 miles + ferry along Lake Garda. 

  4. 4 Peschiera / Desenzano 60 km Verona

    Today, a lovely cross-country cycle take us to Verona. With the Adige crossing it, this is one of the most important and beautiful cities in the Veneto region, and indeed in Italy, so make sure you get there in plenty of time. Worth visiting are: the Roman Arena, the Church of San Zeno and Juliet's House. 60 km = 37 miles / elevation up to 330 metres. 

  5. 5 Verona 75 km Vicenza

    At first, the route starts out flat and then heads through the Colli Berici, a hilly region just south of Vicenza, with a wonderful view of the city. The old city centre is characterized by the beautiful private palaces and public buildings by Andrea Palladio, the famous 16th century architect known all over the world. Possibility to shorten the stage by taking the train in several train stations along the way. 75 km = 46 miles / elevation up to 470 metres. 

  6. 6 Vicenza 50 km Padua

    Cycling out of Vicenza you will come across the beautiful Palladian Villa Rotonda. Along the Bacchiglione river, the route will continue to the fascinating city of Padova with its famous Giotto's Chapel and one of the biggest squares of Europe "Prato della Valle". 50 km = 31 miles / elevation 80 metres

  7. 7 Padua 40 km Mestre / Venice

    The tour continues easily through the flat Veneto. You will cycle along the Brenta Canal, overlooked by the countryside villas of the ancient Venetian nobility (Villa Pisani, Malcontenta, Villa Widmann) until you reach Mestre, Venice's mainland. You can choose to stay directly in Venice with a price supplement. 40 km = 25 miles / no elevation gain.

  8. 8 Mestre / Venice Departure

    Departure after breakfast. Transfer back to Bolzano on request when booking the tour. Possibility either to book extra nights in Mestre or Venice
