    This tour continues to take in the best of our existing Connemara route but to add to this the fantastic Great Western Greenways Cycle. At 42km, this is by far, the longest dedicated cycling route in the country. The route connects the picture perfect town of Westport to the stunning Achill Island utilising the old railway line. The cycle provides great views of Clew bay and the surrounding mountains in a traffic free environment. Since it was opened this route has proved very popular with cyclists and walkers alike and won several awards. Some of the best that Connemara has to offer including Killary Harbour and the stunning Delphi Valley and the beautiful town of Westport.We finish our tour cycling on quiet backroads to the Museum of Country Life near Castlebar. A transfer brings us back to the city of Galway. This is an easier cycle, there is one day of climbing on our Connemara, Galway & Mayo tour which is not on this tour. Also mileage on this tour is a little lower which makes it a more suitable cycle for younger legs.

    Your tour starts in Amsterdam and takes you along the IJsselmeer coast.

    In 1933, the 32 km long "Afsluitdijk" (Enclosure Dam) was constructed, a fundamental part of the larger Zuiderzee Project, damming off the Zuiderzee, formerly a salt water inlet of the North Sea, and turning it into the fresh water lake IJsselmeer.The province of Flevoland was reclaimed from the sea.

    The charming historic towns, the polders and the villages of the interior are connected by excellent cycle paths. In Monnickendam, Hoorn and Enkhuizen you'll discover the old trading towns from the era of the Dutch East India Company. On the eastern shore of the IJsselmeer you can visit the provinces of Friesland and Flevoland with the former islands of Urk and Schokland.

    On the final day, wind and weather permitting, you set off under full sail again for Amsterdam. Here you have plenty of time to enjoy a last evening seeing the sights of the beautiful and exciting capital of the Netherlands.

    Each season our guides take their bikes and test new  interesting routes. If you hold a little 'spirit of adventure" and a minimum of training, why not go with them on the journey?  Daily accommodations are arranged for you; nevertheless be prepared for possible changes along the way as the itinerary, although well-planned, has never been tested by our guide. This represents the best solution in case of bad weather, or in case you get tired, or even  if you want to skip a bike day and visit a different  castle.  Blois, Amboise and Tours are frequently bond by train, so you can always have an alternative to the bike tours. This is especially good for families, because you can choose what to do every day, following your kids needs and rhythms.
