Catalonia - Family - Pyrenees to Mediterranean

Ideal family tour, from the Pyrenees through Girona to the Mediterranean on cycle paths.
  1. 1 Arrival Point Olot

Optional arrival in Girona and transfer to Olot. Olot is known for being the most singular volcano landscape in the Iberian Peninsula, with about 40 dormant volcanoes. You can also walk through La Fageda den Jordà, a beech wood, well-known for its beauty.

  2. 2 Olot 22 km Les Planes dHostoles

Start to follow the cycle path along the old narrow gauge railway line "Carrilet dOlot". You reach Les Planes dHostoles, passing the fantastic area of the Bas Valley with its gorgeous countryside and typical villages, also called the Catalán Switzerland. Once in Les Planes, take your time to enjoy the gorges next to the river. 22 km - 14 miles

  3. 3 Les Planes dHostoles 35 km Girona

Cycle down the Ter River towards Girona. Once in the city, you can spend the rest of the day visiting the Cathedral, with the broadest nave of Gothic architecture in the world and getting lost in the narrow streets of the ancient Jewish quarter. We also recommend a stroll along the Rambla or the medieval walls, with a fantastic panoramic view of the city. 35 km - 20 miles

  4. 4 Girona 16 km Campllong

Today is a short ride, so you have time to say goodbye to Girona. You pass the village of Quart, well-known for its ceramics, and Cassà de la Selva, with beautiful modernist houses in the centre of the town. You can spend the afternoon having a good time with the animals in the farms nearby the accommodation. 16 km - 10 miles

  5. 5 Campllong 30 km Sant Feliu de Guíxols

The last stage is long but also flat and easy to cycle. A fun downhill takes you to the town of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, with its magnificent fishing port and cultural interest, especially for its monastery. You can enjoy the rest of the day at the beach. 30 km - 19 miles

  6. 6 Sant Feliu de Guíxols Departure

End of IberoCycle services. Take the opportunity to extend your holiday by spending a few days with the family on the Costa Brava.
